Today is Day 3 of the Love Challenge. Let’s “talk” about affection and appreciate through giving gifts.
Sometimes, nothing speaks louder than a thoughtful gift that says, “I love you.”
Every relationship needs a good dose of “a little less talk and a lot more action.” No, we are not referring to that kind of action…not now, anyway!
We all speak in diverse love languages. In his book, The 5 Love Languages, Gary Chapman illustrates how we all use distinct “love languages” to express love for our spouse. These languages are Touch, Words of Affirmation, Service, Quality Time and Gifts. But, really, who doesn’t appreciate a token of affection?
Leave a surprise gift somewhere unexpected where your spouse will find it. It does not need to be an expensive gift. For example: a single rose, a picture of you two dating, your spouse’s favorite snack with a note that says, “You’re my favorite treat.” Put it in his/her lunch, car, a drawer…any where he/she will find it and be pleasantly surprised. Some fun ideas: a massage, a round of golf, a couple’s dance lesson, her favorite flower, his favorite food, a love note, a box of chocolates, a framed pic of the two of you…be creative and have fun.
