Do’s & Don’ts of Anger: Holiday Edition

The focus of this month’s webinar is recognizing the originating emotion, especially during the stress of the holidays.

Have you ever been angry? The feeling that you’ve been wronged, hurt, or subject to injustice that creates a deep outrage inside. Welcome to the human race. All of us have felt or experienced anger that cuts to the core of who we are. How you handle the pain or injustice will fuel either connection or disconnection in a relationship. The do’s and don’ts of anger stem from an understanding that anger is always a secondary emotion.

There are four basic reasons we become angry:

  1. Fear
  2. Frustration
  3. Hurt
  4. Injustice.

Understanding how one of these four ‘original’ emotions is surfacing as anger will help you deal with anger in a constructive and meaningful way.

Anger is always a secondary emotion. The key to solving anger is understanding the original emotion.
