Inside the Lesson
In this episode, Craig Gross, founder of XXXChurch.com—a website dedicated to helping those struggling with porn addiction—discusses the scope of the pornography epidemic and what steps you should take to find healing. For most people, their pornography addiction will remain a secret until it is involuntarily exposed, but in order to find healing, you must come clean. Pornography is an escape from reality or a chance to act out on a sexual fantasy. Whatever the reason, porn has a way of luring you into false sense of security; it can never give you what you seek.
To overcome a pornography addiction, you must first recognize its toxic grip in your life. Then, you must commit to doing whatever it takes to be healed. Next, come clean to your spouse and ask for forgiveness. Lastly, find an accountability partner and be vulnerable. Those who wait to get caught before they come clean about their porn addiction are foolish. It is much better to come clean now than to wait until you are exposed against your will. Take a risk, be honest about your addiction, and start the journey towards healing.
