JOB TITLE:  Events & Engagement Manager

Status: Full-time/Exempt

Location: Kirkland/Remote

Reports To: Director of Engagement

Direct Reports: None. This position will interface with SF leadership, Engagement Team, Event Committees (as assigned), Event Volunteers, Vendors, The Board of Directors, SF Supporters, Volunteers, and Business Allies (sponsors).

Job Summary: The Event Manager will be responsible for designing and executing all aspects of Stronger Families (SF) current and emerging fundraising events. This position will be tasked with driving goals of increasing revenue, corporate engagement, and community awareness for events that cumulatively raise over $600,000 annually and attract more than 500 guests to our yearly gala. The Event Manager will build relationships in the community that drive participation and investment in the mission. Candidates must align with Stronger Families mission and organizational values. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Annual planning, management, and execution of the annual Hope for Heroes Gala, Business Leader’s Luncheon, and additional emerging fundraising events. Elements of oversight and execution include but are not limited to:
  • Meeting or exceeding event fundraising goals
  • Meeting or exceeding audience development goals by developing relationships in the community that drive event participation and fiscal investment
  • Recruit and connect with executives and entrepreneurs soliciting by securing corporate event sponsors (Business Allies) and implementing sponsor benefits
  • Procuring high level auction items and experiences 
  • Coordinate and complete all logistical and administrative tasks
  • In partnership with SF Leadership, participate in fundraising program design (story arcs, A/V, messaging, signage etc.)
  • Assist in securing high-profile program participants as assigned (Key Note Speaker, Auctioneer, Emcee, etc.)
  • Managing vendor relationships with savvy negotiation with an emphasis on fiscal savings and in keeping with operational guidelines and budget
  • Manage pipeline development, account planning, forecasting, ROI analysis, and engagement of prospects and high level volunteer cultivation
  • Oversee and supervise all event volunteers and staff
  • Managing annual fundraising event budget
  • Archiving event documentation to inform future planning
  • Collaborate with SF leadership and design team to create annual plans, deadlines, and deliverables for all event-related communications and collateral  (Save the Dates, Invitations, Flyers, Postcards, e-comms, etc.)
  • Provide staff leadership in the areas of committee development including on-boarding, training, and recognition
  • Support stewardship efforts helping to ensure all event participants are integrated into SF’s supporter database and annual communication plans
  • Providing single point accountability for event-related deliverables to SF staff and leadership (event plans, status reports, prospect lists, etc.)
  • Research and implement industry best practices to ensure events are in keeping with current trends and innovations both logistically and programmatically, ensuring an industry leading guest experience
  • Other administrative and tactical duties as assigned

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Certified Meeting Professional certification is a plus (CMP) 

Skills & Experience:

  • 5-7 years of event management experience with a minimum of 3 years specifically managing large scale fundraising events (high capacity donor events, galas with a live auction component, procurement, corporate gatherings, etc.)
  • 3-5 years experience in sales or relationship management with strong negotiation skills and comfort with cold-calling, converting warm leads, and establishing significantly beneficial relationships for the organization.
  • A passion for events and creating a sense of community and connection
  • A natural inclination to think outside of the box, knack for being resourceful, and a team-first attitude
  • Proven ability to independently and effectively multi-tasks and manage multiple projects 
  • Demonstrates familiarity working in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment prioritizing wisely to meet deadlines and revenue targets
  • Capacity to anticipate project needs and align resources proactively to mitigate challenges and shortfalls
  • Demonstrates high level execution competencies including but not limited to being action oriented, self-starting, resilient, driven, a high level of attention to details, team player, calm under pressure, and quick-thinking

Engagement Coordinator

Status: Full-time/Exempt

Location: Kirkland/Remote

Reports To: Director of Engagement

Direct Reports: None. This position will interface with the Engagement Team, Operations Team, and our Community of Support (donors, sponsors, volunteers, vendors)

The Engagement Coordinator supports the Engagement Team and the annual fundraising plan and initiatives designed to meet or exceed organizational revenue goals.  Primary duties include providing single point accountability for donor database management (CRM), gift processing and stewardship, revenue tracking, reporting, and analysis, and peer to peer fundraising campaign management. Stronger Families is a growing organization serving across the country and this position affords meaningful exposure to non-profit fundraising and engagement efforts. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute day to day operations of the donor database to ensure timely and accurate gift processing, constituent data capture and updates, fiscal reporting and analysis, event registration, and moves management systems.
  • In partnership with Finance Team, plan and execute all thank you and receipting efforts.
  • Provide oversight and support for peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns including technical support, coaching, troubleshooting, and participant communications.
  • Creates and deploys the Engagement Team’s project management calendar. Tracks and coordinates all major projects, as assigned.
  • Provide administrative and technical support to Grant Writer to ensure effective and timely completion of grant applications, reporting, and research.
  • Organize an appealing and effective incentive program for fundraisers, supporters, and sponsors.
  • Assist in strengthening supporter relationships by providing a wide range of activities serving as front-line customer service representative and engagement liaison handling and/or redirecting internal and external inquiries.
  • Represent Stronger Families in the community by staffing information table as needed at fundraising events and experiences, resource fairs, and other engagements.
  • Administratively deploy fundraising communications and assist in the execution of social media strategies on platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
  • Other administrative and tactical duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate work experience 
  • Project Management Professional Certification preferred (PMP) 

Skills & Experience:

  • Two years of experience working in a fundraising setting or other functional area of a non-profit organization or university
  • Self-starter, passion for fundraising, strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • High level of technical proficiency in Microsoft Suite required and experience with donor databases and CRMs preferred
  • High level of proficiency in project management and data reporting and analysis.

JOB TITLE: Digital/Print Graphic Design Intern

JOB SUMMARY: Our non-profit organization is seeking a bold, creative intern to work closely alongside the Graphic Designer to assist in development of intuitive product branding and marketing design in both digital and print capacities.

STATUS: 10-15 hours per week 

RESPONSIBLE TO: Graphic Designer and Executive Director

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Digital + Print Communications:

  • Assist Graphic Designer in the creation of graphics for both print and online instructional and content related materials.
  • Work with Graphic Designer and Creative Director to conceptualize, design and develop print and digital marketing pieces for various events.
  • Assist with creating graphics to support blended learning marketing in both print and online.
  • Participate in upholding and maintaining corporate brand standards.

Product Development:

  • Assist in creation of study guide layouts and online presentation of content to maximize engagement.
  • Create and maintain image and content libraries.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:  At least two years graphic design training.

SKILLS, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Communications expertise:  Must grasp basic concepts of visual and written communications including key message, audience and purpose, and brand personality. This individual must be able to convey ideas and concepts via strong visual communication design skills, have the ability to edit and clarify graphics created by others into a brand voice, and have confident presentation skills.
  • Digital aptitude:  Must understand the tenets of social networking and be confident in using digital tools for sharing digital imagery online.
  • Print aptitude: Must possess some knowledge of the requirements for printing and publishing multiple page documents.
  • Strategic thinking:  Understand the concepts of Goals, Objectives, Strategies, and Tactics to develop graphic solutions that meet those concepts.
  • Interpersonal communications: Must be able to forge relationships both face-to-face and digitally, and effectively collaborate and work with a variety of team members.
  • Software knowledge: Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and photo editing, Microsoft Office. General knowledge of video editing software and project management software (i.e. Smartsheet) a plus but not required.
  • Experience/Training: At least 2 years graphic design training with understanding of both print and digital formats. Samples of work must be available for review online or sent via email.

JOB TITLE: Shipping Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY: The core mission of the SF Event Assistant is to help SF build healthy relationships and stronger families within our military, veteran, and first responder community.  Shipping Coordinators accomplish their portion of this goal by assisting OXYGEN Event Coordinators with day-to-day logistics. This is focused on packing and shipping event materials, organizing the shipping area, and accomplishing other tasks as needed.

STATUS: Non-Exempt: 8-12 hours per week

JOB RELATIONSHIPS:

  • RESPONSIBLE TO:  Event Coordinator(s) and/or Lead Event Coordinator
  • CHAIN OF COMMAND:  Event Coordinator(s), Operations Director, Executive Director
  • WORKERS SUPERVISED:  None
  • INTERRELATIONSHIPS:  Training Team, Creative Team

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Packing & Shipping: You will likely ship 10-50 boxes per week, and these boxes will contain various contents determined by the type/size of the individual event. Attention to detail is required, as well as the ability to lift boxes up to 45 pounds.
  2. Data Inputting: We track info on every event we execute, and you will need to document your work and other information that comes in regarding the events you assist with.
  3. Utilization of Computer Programs, such as SmartSheet, Infusion Soft, Eventbrite, Slack, etc.:  We use a variety of online computer programs to organize our events. You may be asked to utilize these programs and to do so with little/no assistance.
  4. Project Completion: Various tasks will be delegated to you, and you will be expected to complete the tasks with little supervision and little verification.

QUALIFICATIONS:

JOB TITLE: Creative Assistant – Intern (20 hours)

SUMMARY: Our fast-growing company is seeking a passionate intern to be the Creative Assistant for Stronger Families. The Creative Assistant will work closely with the Creative Director to learn how to create content, capture video and photography, scale social media following, and grow your personal skills and knowledge. The Creative Assistant will create and deliver strategic digital solutions that help grow traffic and maximize conversions and engagement.
